Plants with different destiny

Let me show you the plants we have in our backyard.

Dwarf tomatoes, chillis, tomatoes and capsicums looking mighty delicious to us :-)

Bushes, dandelions, weed and unknown flowers looking mightily mow-able to our real estate agent.

Taikon no Taiko

Things we do at home :-)

Fighting on Taikon no Tatsujin.

We are both equally amateur at this game. Nevertheless the fun comes from being kiasu and wanting to win.

I won.

Well, I'm just saying.

Lo Transformations

Being on an internship with most of the work to be taken home, most days I am like this:

Wrapped up in my usual combo of sweatpants+jumper+thick socks+glasses. Sitting on the same old chair. Munching on yoghurt, biscuits, cereal, chocolates, bread, candies, apples and oranges before cooking up a storm at 5.30 p.m.

But occasionally, PajamaLo will get the chance to transform herself and this gets PajamaLo very excited.

WorkahoLo!

I still have workwear new in my wardrobe and this year being my first in the workforce (ahem, still not really in yet), the field of workwear is still one I have yet to explore and conquer! I love thinking of what to mix and match. I love making up. I love venturing to the city looking chic.

Funnily, the next few photos look as if I have m head attached onto my body. I think it is due to the high collar of my Zara coat.

Right?!
Signing off, WorkahoLo.
Then there are times when PajamaLo has no choice but to transform to ShopahoLo. Facing the tempting lanes on shopping centres, braving the cold weather for outdoor shopping, unleasing the killer eye for discounts, snap-happy sessions in the fitting room.
The best part is dressing up for shopping! I go for the combo of t-shirt+jeans+slippers/flats usually. Cause this allows easy taking off and dressing up in the fitting rooms hence wasting no precious time. No unbuttoning, unbuckling, removing of complicated shoes, painful feet. Pure shopping bliss.

Signing off again, ShopahoLo!
Hmmm, what are other transformations I have?
Any clue?

Homesick

A million thoughts running through my mind.

Right now, I just want to be home with my Mum, Dad and Sister.

I had a very vivid dream about my family the other day. Dad was in the living room, Mum was fussing around with every household item, Sister was in her room with her internet. Then we went to the Summit for a helicopter ride.

It left me longing to be home.

Being in my current state, I wonder when will be the next time I can see them.
And how painful the separation time is gonna be again.

Taste of FAME!

This is Susan Boyle. If you have not heard of her amazing-ness already, please watch the video below right now.

Wasn't she amazing? I cried when I watched that video, you know. Inspiring and a constant reminder of how shallow people usually are when it comes to judging others around them.
Ever since she became famous, Susan has been undergoing a makeover. And looking at her latest pictures, made me always cry the second time. Behold.

This second picture is taken directly from PerezHilton.com and is actually the first picture I saw of Susan in a while. I almost choked on my cereal seeing that.

The reason?

. . . woot! Look Ma, my coat is famous and can sing like an angel!

Ghost story

"There was this taxi driver who was driving through a cemetery on a dark, foggy late night. He was alone when he suddenly saw a girl flagging for his taxi. She had long dark hair and was wearing long white robes. She got into the car.

Taxi driver (TD): Where to, Miss?
Lady (L): XXX (insert address)

Halfway through his driving, he looked back to peek at the girl as she was abnormally silent. Looking into his rear mirror, he saw no one at the back seat. She had disappeared. Shocked and terrified, he braked immediately.

He looked into the rear mirror again and this time he saw her, with her nose bleeding.

TD: Ah, where did you go just now?!
L: I wanted to pick my nose but was afraid you would see so I hid behind your seat!
TD: Then why is your nose bleeding!?
L: Who asked you to brake so suddenly?! "

One of my favourite stories from primary school xD

Still funny!

Anyone has any classic stories? I love collecting stories!

Buffin' Muffins

I baked 12 muffins yesterday! The left ones are banana flavoured while the right ones are chocolate flavoured!

It took me just 40 minutes as I baked them from prepacked muffin mixes from White Wings (sounds like a sanitary pad brand eh?)

I added premium chocolate chips, milk and white chocolate chips, brought back from Perth by Olivia. They came out as melted goodness within the muffin itself mmm.

I added raisins into the banana ones and topped with some cereal, to provide the crunchy feeling.

Marshall is always a happening place. I tend to announce my achievement to others. So within minutes, all muffins were booked out :-) I made small little flags to represent their ownership.

Melissa ordered through MSN - first to order sweat. WenJi, my PA, is going to deliver it to her during lunchtime today!

WooHsian was around as we were gonna go for a jog together at Jells Park. But he has a better picture of this muffin at his blog. Yer. I really need to start using my camera again and not my phone camera!

SerLey's!

LiLet's!

The muffins with flags. Oli then ordered a banana muffin and Ray gobbled up a chocolate one before dinner and took another banana one for lunch tomorrow. Fern came home later at night and took a chocolate one for work today as well!

I love spreading baked happiness to everyone muahaha. . .

. . . now for the $4 for the muffin, everyone. . .
On another note, among all Facebook statuses or MSN statuses I have used thus far, this "Muffins! Banana or Chocolate for you?" received the most reply. Speaks for itself eh, Serene, ShinYi, Steve, Sam!?
Can anyone guess why I went 'running' at Jells Park yesterday with Ray, WenJi and WooHsian?

Love message

I found this on my window sill while cleaning my house on Friday.

Before you go "Awwww, how sweet!" or "Wow, Ray learnt a thing or two!" (for the ones closer to us or him), let me *cough cough* tell you all that -

WenJi was the one who wrote that.

1) The usage of 'Ray' instead of 'I'.
2) The handwriting.
3) Ray.

. . . Well, this is just not Mr Tan's . . . .hmm, skill.

I wiped it off in less than 5 seconds. SIGH ah.

Of MeDee Thai Restaurant and comfort zones

There are times one wakes up feeling like Asian food or 'comfort' food. Instead of being fattened up to stand the cold with potato and cheese the Western way, you feel like defending yourself with oily fried-goodness and starch in all forms and shape.

Let me let you in on a little treasure of a place in Springvale for nice Thai food. The first time I came to this small restaurant was during Oli's birthday last year, when Amy (Thai princess) suggested going to this place where she and her brothers frequent. We feasted on really special Thai food, those I have never seen anywhere else. (Or maybe did not know to order before this!)

This place is called Me Dee Thai Restaurant (follow the link for the address). Both times I went there, it was filled by at least 75% Thai people. I am guessing, they must know their stuff right!

We went there again on Saturday, suggested by Ray.

Instead of food, he was more enthusiastic in getting the interesting drink we had the last time we were there. The menu was easier to use this time around (even without Amy there), since they have more English in there.

See the reunion between Ray and his drink. Emo-ful.

These are the drinks I was talking about. I don't know the exact names of the drinks. I just told the owner, "One of the pink drink and one of the orange one."

The pink one tastes like a sweeter version of Air Bandung while the orange one tastes like a sweeter version of Nai Cha (Milk Tea). Muahahaha, I love sweeter versions.

Anyway, the point is, the food there rocks, in my opinion. You can also buy crazy looking Thai snacks there. Oh, and there is a Thai video rental store right next door just in case you are interested.
There is indeed something about Asian which provides some kind of comfort zone to me. Or is it just me.
I love wandering around Asian grocers. Looking at the products, the arrangement, the messiness of the aisles, the gossiping Chinese cashiers, the dusty and almost expired forgotten stocks, the sloppy packaging - ah. The familiarity of it.
Endless rows of instant noodles. I am gonna try them all muahaha.
The endless rows of sauces. Sauces I learnt to use here: Fish sauce, BBQ sauce, dry chilli flakes.

The endless rows of instant chinese drinks: Instant soybean drink, 30-seconds-cook black sesame dessert, chrysanthemum flowers for tea.

The endless rows of canned food Mum never encouraged us to eat: heavily syruped lychee from Malaysia, Thailand, China and Vietnam. Sei mei?

The best endless item? The SALES tag. Woot.

The worst thing? How much some products remind you of home.
This.

My Porky Grandma's favourite biscuit of all.
Homesick-nya.
